The role

Reporting to the Executive Vice-President, Technology and Infrastructure Services, the Senior Director, National Infrastructure and Operations acts as the orchestrator of infrastructure and technical operations.

The incumbent oversees and supports all critical infrastructure, including RF and IP networks, data centres, distribution and contribution systems, Network Operations Centres (NOC), operational cybersecurity, as well as corporate shared platforms and solutions.

This role is central to ensuring the reliability, security, and technological performance of CBC/Radio-Canada.

The right fit
  • University degree in engineering, information technology, management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 15 to 20 years of experience in managing critical infrastructure, technical operations, or broadcast technologies within large-scale organizations
  • 10 to 15 years of close collaboration with technical, operational, and cybersecurity teams, with a deep understanding of continuity, national performance, and essential services
  • Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams across a national footprint (networks, data centres, cybersecurity, shared solutions, NOC), including talent mobilization and management across multiple sites
  • Demonstrated achievements in large-scale organizational transformation, including infrastructure modernization, development of strategic visions, change management, and implementation of new practices
  • Expertise in the design, deployment, and integration of robust technology solutions: virtualization, cloud, automation, advanced telemetry, and intelligent architectures
  • Strong capabilities in strategic planning, management of significant budgets, financial model optimization, investment planning, and vendor and partner relationship management
  • Solid understanding of technology risk management, including cybersecurity, redundancy, resilience, continuity, and obsolescence prevention
  • Experience working in unionized environments and ability to navigate complex, national or multi-regional organizational structures
