The mission of the Ordre des dentistes du Québec is to protect the public by ensuring high-quality dental care, promoting access to oral healthcare, and raising awareness of the importance of oral health for overall well-being.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Secretary of the Order is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the proper functioning of all activities related to the Order’s secretariat. The role includes fulfilling legal responsibilities as defined by the Professional Code of Quebec, the Dentists Act (Quebec), and applicable regulations.
The Secretary works in close and ongoing collaboration with peers, as well as with the President and the Executive Director.
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in strategic and institutional roles, ideally within a professional order, regulated organization, or highly structured environment
Experience managing a team, either directly or in a matrix structure
Experience serving as Secretary to a Board of Directors or committees
Proven achievements in legal risk management and prevention
Strong experience managing regulatory or electoral processes (e.g., elections, disciplinary processes, unauthorized practice cases), considered a major asset
Demonstrated ability to navigate politically sensitive environments with multiple stakeholders (Board, President, Executive Director, professionals) and influence without direct authority
Experience in governance-related document management (archives, minutes, compliance documentation)
Impeccable professional and ethical record
Excellent command of French and strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written
