The role

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for championing the vision, mission, and values of Les Zépanouis. The successful candidate will mobilize employees, volunteers, partners, and donors around a shared ambition: providing a greater number of children and families in Laval with access to high-quality services that support their development and well-being.

Leading a well-established and mature organization, the Executive Director oversees all operations, implements the strategic plan, develops partnerships, and ensures the organization’s long-term financial sustainability. Acting as both a collaborative leader, an ambassador for the mission, and a disciplined manager, the Executive Director strengthens the organization’s impact, visibility, and capacity to serve the Laval community.

The right fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing a non-profit organization and/or in a leadership role involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, including volunteers, private and public partners, government agencies, community organizations, and sponsors.
  • Experience maintaining and developing funding sources, including philanthropy, fundraising campaigns, donor relations, and grant applications.
  • Strong financial management knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting oversight, and resource development.
  • Experience developing talent, fostering employee retention, and implementing effective recruitment and attraction strategies.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors, including governance, reporting, dashboards, and board relations.
  • Experience in strategic planning, including defining organizational priorities, establishing objectives, and overseeing operational planning aligned with the strategic plan.
  • Experience in public relations, including public speaking, media relations, and government relations.
  • Knowledge of the community social pediatrics model is considered an asset.
