The Fédération des médecins résidents du Québec (FMRQ) is a professional union representing resident physicians’ associations from the four medical faculties of Université de Montréal, McGill University, Université de Sherbrooke, and Université Laval.

The FMRQ is dedicated to the study, advocacy, and advancement of the financial, social, moral, academic, and professional interests of its member associations and their members. It is responsible for negotiating the collective agreement and ensuring its proper implementation within training environments. The organization also negotiates a range of financial services and personal insurance offerings.

The role

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Political Communications and Media Content Manager monitors the Federation’s political files and contributes to their development, notably by creating multimedia content (texts, photos, videos, etc.) that highlights these issues and the organization’s mission.

The incumbent coordinates with various external partners, including those responsible for publishing and managing content across multiple platforms (website, mobile application, and social media). The individual also contributes to and develops the Federation’s overall communication activities and acts as an advisor to senior leadership.

The right fit
  • University degree in communications or a related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in a related field or in project management
  • Knowledge of the healthcare sector, an asset
  • Excellent command of French, both written and spoken
  • Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and synthesis skills
  • Strong political awareness and interest in political and social issues
  • Ability to work in a political environment
  • Creativity and innovative mindset
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • High level of ethics and professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Availability to attend evening or weekend meetings, as needed
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
