The role

Reporting to the Co-President and Chief Operating Officer, the Human Resources Director is responsible for defining, developing, and implementing the organization’s HR strategies and practices in support of business objectives.

As a member of the leadership team, the successful candidate will oversee the HR function across the organization and serve as a strategic partner to both executives and managers. This individual will establish frameworks, implement tools, document practices, and provide guidance on all human resources matters while empowering managers to fulfill their people leadership responsibilities.

The role encompasses workforce planning, talent acquisition, organizational development, performance management, total rewards, regulatory compliance, and occupational health and safety. It also includes developing HR dashboards and metrics, managing the HR budget, and identifying and mitigating talent-related organizational risks.

The right fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, including significant experience in a leadership role or as a senior HR business partner;
  • Proven experience in operational environments such as manufacturing, construction, project-based organizations, or multi-site operations;
  • Demonstrated experience building or structuring HR functions within a growth or organizational transformation context;
  • Strong knowledge of Quebec labour legislation, with exposure to interprovincial environments (Ontario or other provinces) considered an asset;
  • Experience managing occupational health and safety (OHS) issues in diverse operational environments, considered a strong asset;
  • Membership in the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (CRHA), considered an asset.
