The role

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for defining and executing Xn Québec’s strategic vision and priorities. The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately eight professionals while collaborating with an extensive network of partners and stakeholders.

Serving as the organization’s primary ambassador and spokesperson, the Executive Director will mobilize members, advocate for the sector with public authorities, and strengthen Xn Québec’s position as a leading voice both in Québec and internationally.

The Executive Director will ensure the relevance, impact, and sustainability of the organization’s initiatives while driving its continued evolution and delivering meaningful value to its members.

The right fit
  • University degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Communications, Public Affairs, Cultural Management, Innovation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Significant leadership experience (approximately 8–15 years) in executive or senior management roles, including experience working with a Board of Directors or comparable governance bodies
  • Strong network of influence and demonstrated experience developing and activating strategic relationships in Québec and internationally (a major asset within the digital, creative, or cultural sectors)
  • Deep understanding of the political, economic, and funding issues related to innovation, digital creativity, and commercialization
  • Significant experience in public affairs, government relations, advocacy, or stakeholder engagement
  • Proven experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or organizational growth, ideally within an association, non profit organization, or ecosystem based environment
  • Experience securing and managing public and blended funding (grants, strategic initiatives, government programs), including accountability and reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and evolving strategic plans with measurable results
  • Proven ability to lead, engage, structure, and develop high performing teams and operational functions

Assets

  • Graduate degree (Master’s degree or equivalent)
  • Direct experience within the digital creativity ecosystem, cultural industries, or immersive and interactive technologies
