The company

The mission of the Fondation Le Chaînon is to build meaningful connections with a community of committed allies in order to ensure stable and sustainable funding that enables Le Chaînon to support women in vulnerable situations on their journey toward safety, dignity, autonomy, and reclaiming control over their lives.

Rooted in strong governance and a deeply human approach, the Foundation works in close collaboration with the Association Le Chaînon, to which it is fully dedicated. It relies on an engaged Board of Directors and a skilled, committed team.

In a context of growing needs and considering the potential rollout of a major fundraising campaign, the Foundation is seeking a General Director capable of evolving its philanthropic model while preserving its strengths, combining rigor, impact, and human sensitivity.

The role

Reporting to the Foundation’s Board of Directors and working closely with the President and CEO of Le Chaînon, the General Director plays a leading strategic, philanthropic, and human role.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and implementing the Foundation’s strategic vision, philanthropic priorities, and annual and multi-year action plans
  • Leading all philanthropic development activities, including major gifts, foundations, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events
  • Overseeing the Foundation’s financial and operational management, including budgeting, monitoring commitments, and optimizing resources
  • Advising the Board of Directors and supporting its work with relevant analyses, KPIs, and informed recommendations
  • Acting as a credible and inspiring spokesperson for the Foundation with donors, partners, media, and stakeholders
  • Fostering a healthy, human, and engaging organizational culture aligned with the values of Le Chaînon
  • Develop and implement funding and visibility strategies aligned with the mission

  • Build and strengthen relationships with individual donors, major donors, foundations, and corporate partners

  • Ensure ongoing, transparent, and constructive collaboration between the Foundation and Le Chaînon teams to maintain alignment and consistency in their missions, positioning, and respective activities

The right fit
  • Relevant university degree (management, philanthropy, communications, administration, or related field)

  • 7 to 10 years of management experience, ideally within a philanthropic organization or structured nonprofit

  • Proven experience in philanthropic development and managing relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners

  • Significant experience leading or contributing to a major fundraising campaign, considered an asset

  • Strong financial management, budgeting, and reporting skills

  • Experience in governance and close collaboration with a Board of Directors

  • Experience leading and mobilizing multidisciplinary teams

  • Comfortable in a public-facing role involving representation and communication

  • Empathy and sensitivity to issues affecting women in vulnerable situations
