Located in western Quebec in Shawville, the region’s slaughterhouse is currently being reopened under new leadership. The Pontiac AgriSaveur Solidarity Cooperative is committed to creating an excellent work environment for employees and working collaboratively to provide high-quality service in support of our community’s agricultural and agri-food interests.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will play a key role in both the strategic and day-to-day management of operations. This person will serve as a central leader while ensuring a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment in accordance with agri-food industry standards. Working closely with the Board, they will contribute actively to the organization’s development.
University degree in business management, agri-food, a relevant combination of education and experience, or another related field
3 years of experience in a coordination or management role
Experience in human resources management: recruitment, training, and employee retention
Experience in financial management: budget preparation and monitoring
Experience in fundraising
Experience in planning and overseeing projects and activities
Comfortable with technology and digital tools: management software (accounting, communication, inventory, project management, etc.)
Knowledge of MAPAQ standards related to food safety and animal welfare is an asset
Knowledge of slaughterhouse operations is an asset
