The role

Reporting to the Floor Operations Supervisor, the Assistant Store Manager plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the store and in engaging and motivating the team.

With a strong presence on the sales floor, this person ensures smooth daily operations, actively contributes to achieving sales targets and helps maintain the high standards that have built Oberson’s reputation. They also serve as a resource for employees and contribute to fostering a positive, high-performing and customer-focused culture.

The right fit
  • College diploma (DEC) in business administration, commerce management, retail management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Experience managing or supervising a team in a retail environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, engage and develop a team;
  • Proven consultative sales and customer service skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a high-volume environment;
  • Strong interest in sports, outdoor activities or performance-driven sporting environments;
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and actively contribute to improving store operations;
  • Asset: Proven experience in specialty retail.
