Dansu Foods/EPIK eats is a fast-growing food startup dedicated to producing high-quality, sustainable soy products sourced from locally grown soybeans on Quebec soil, which aims at promoting a healthy diet and pioneer the development of alternative protein options that transform soybeans into nutritious and innovative food products. Dansu Foods/EPIK eats revolutionize the soy industry with innovative practices while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability, quality, and efficiency.

The role

The Director of Operations – Production, Quality & Shipping, reporting directly to the CEO, is responsible for overseeing operations of the tofu production and processing facility in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve region in Montreal, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and compliance with industry regulations. This role involves managing staff, optimizing production processes, maintaining equipment, and driving continuous improvement to meet business objectives.

The right fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not always required);
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in food manufacturing, food transformation sector preferred, with at least 3 years in a managerial role;
  • This role requires someone who thrives with autonomy, can build processes from scratch, and is energized by the ambiguity and fast pace of a startupenvironment;
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities;
  • Excellent communication, organization, and team-building skills;
  • Fluent in English or French, with preference given to bilingual.
