YMCA of Québec
Since 1851, the YMCA of Québec, a charitable organization, has been dedicated to inspiring and empowering individuals to reach their full potential and contribute to their communities. Through a variety of programs and services, the YMCA supports youth success, health and well-being, skill development, temporary housing and shelter, and social inclusion prevention.
In addition to its online programming, the YMCA’s team of 1,250 employees and 520 volunteers supports activities across more than 150 locations in Québec, Canada, and internationally. Thanks to the participation of members, students, partners, and the generosity of donors and the Foundation team, the YMCA has a meaningful impact on the lives of more than 79,000 people annually.
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, the Director of Communications and Outreach is responsible for managing and promoting the brand image of the YMCA of Québec to both internal and external stakeholders, strengthening awareness and understanding of its social impact.
This is a key role within the organization, requiring a strong ability to understand cross-functional challenges, simplify complex issues, and influence effectively. The Director acts as a trusted advisor to their team, peers, directors, and senior leadership.
As an inspiring leader, the Director will develop and implement strategic communication approaches, structure work processes, and guide a team of internal communication professionals. This person will also be responsible for selecting, directing, and collaborating with agencies, external partners, and freelancers to help achieve the organization’s objectives.
