Zú’s mentorship programs are based on the MIT Venture Mentoring Service (MIT-VMS) methodology, developed by MIT. This rigorous framework provides group mentoring that is conflict-free, impartial, and confidential.

Zú assesses the development stage of each venture and delivers tailored support programs that meet the evolving needs of startups. It also offers a wide range of entrepreneurial services, including funding support, internationalization assistance, workshops, pitch clinics, and access to professional resources.

The role

Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy and Operations, the Director, Entrepreneurship is responsible for operating, structuring, and continuously evolving Zú’s startup support services to maximize venture growth, performance, and integration within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

This individual plays a central role in delivering, enhancing, and promoting Zú’s entrepreneurial offering by ensuring the quality, consistency, and relevance of the startup journey, including interactions with initiatives affiliated with Zú, such as Primi and ECLO.

More specifically, the successful candidate will oversee the effective management of entrepreneurship programs and support services in accordance with the MIT-VMS methodology, drive their evolution based on the needs of entrepreneurs and market trends, engage key stakeholders around the startup experience, and actively contribute to strengthening Zú’s position as a leading incubator within the creative, entertainment, and hospitality industries.

Through their leadership, they will help maintain and evolve a high-performing, structured, distinctive, and sustainable support model while upholding the highest standards of quality, impact, and operational excellence.

The right fit
  • University degree in Business Administration, Management, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in entrepreneurship, incubation, acceleration, innovation, or program development.
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership, service coordination, or managing strategic initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem in Québec, with international exposure considered an asset.
  • Solid understanding of the realities and needs of startups at the ideation, validation, growth, and commercialization stages.
  • Knowledge of the creative, entertainment, or hospitality industries is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with project management, data tracking, or CRM tools is considered an asset.
