The company

The FAE brings together nine unions representing 65,000 teachers working in preschool, elementary, secondary, correctional education, vocational training and adult education, as well as school staff at École Peter Hall and Centre académique Fournier. It also represents 3,500 members of the FAE Retired Members Association.

Its affiliated unions are located in the regions of Montréal, Capitale Nationale, Laval, Outaouais, Laurentides, Estrie and Montérégie, home to Québec’s four largest urban centres.

The role

Reporting to the Director of Administration and Human Resources, you will plan, coordinate and manage files within your area of responsibility. You will act as an advisor to the Vice President of Labour Relations, senior management, as well as members of the Federation’s Executive Committee and affiliated organizations.

The right fit
  • University degree in labour law, industrial relations, human resources management or any combination of education and relevant experience
  • Three to five years of experience in similar functions
  • Relevant experience applying collective agreements and labour legislation
  • Strong knowledge of the legal framework governing teachers’ work within Québec’s French school service centres, considered a strong asset
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience delivering presentations to knowledgeable and critical audiences
  • Knowledge of the union environment and/or the education sector
  • Membership with the Barreau du Québec and/or the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés, considered a strong asset
