Les Amis de la montagne is a non-profit organization recognized as a leading force in the protection and enhancement of Mount Royal. At the intersection of environmental, heritage, civic, and institutional issues, the organization plays a key role in the governance and stewardship of this iconic Montréal landmark, while mobilizing the community to actively support its long-term preservation.

The role

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Financial Controller is responsible for financial management, internal controls, and the oversight of accounting operations across the various entities that make up Les Amis de la montagne. As a true business partner, this person ensures the quality and accuracy of financial information and supports management in analyzing, planning, and monitoring the organization’s financial performance.

The right fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial control;
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full accounting cycle and preparing financial statements;
  • Demonstrated experience supervising or coordinating an accounting team;
  • Strong understanding of applicable accounting standards and tax requirements;
  • Excellent financial analysis and budget monitoring skills;
  • Proficiency with accounting software and financial management tools.

Assets

  • Demonstrated experience with QuickBooks;
  • Demonstrated experience working within a non-profit organization.
