Reporting to the National Director, Chief Data & AI Officer, the Director, AI Enterprise Data Governance is responsible for the implementation and evolution of CBC/Radio-Canada’s enterprise data governance program.
As the leader of this emerging function, the incumbent oversees the deployment of the frameworks, processes, standards and tools required to improve the quality, availability, security and understanding of data across the organization. Acting as a strategic partner to business and technology teams, this individual plays a key role in advancing data management maturity while fostering accountability, stewardship and informed decision-making throughout the enterprise.
The Director also contributes to the development of a data-driven culture by promoting the adoption of governance practices, strengthening data literacy and helping business units maximize the value of information assets in support of organizational priorities.
Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field;
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, data management or a related field;
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams;
Demonstrated experience establishing, deploying and evolving enterprise-wide data governance programs within complex organizations;
Experience leading the implementation and adoption of enterprise data governance capabilities, including data catalog, metadata management and information governance practices;
Experience developing and operationalizing business glossaries, common data definitions and governance frameworks that support consistency and informed decision-making across the organization;
Proven ability to navigate and influence large, complex and highly matrixed environments involving multiple business units and stakeholder groups;
Demonstrated experience implementing, integrating, or evolving enterprise data governance platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, or Microsoft Purview, as well as working with modern cloud-based data environments and platforms;
Proven success establishing and maintaining practices related to data lineage, metadata management, data quality, data catalogs, and governance controls that support the integrity, reliability, compliance, and business value of information assets.
