Cogeco Media, a subsidiary of Cogeco founded in 1957 by Henri Audet, is a major player in the Quebec radio broadcasting landscape. It operates 21 radio stations, including 98.5 FM in Montreal, FM93 in Quebec City, and the Rythme network stations, reaching nearly 5 million listeners every week. It also owns Cogeco Nouvelles, the largest private radio news agency in Quebec. Its division, Cogeco Force Radio, offers advertisers a powerful network of partner stations as well as integrated services in advertising, research, and media creativity.
The Vice President, Content and News at 98.5 FM is responsible for the strategic direction, planning, and management of editorial operations for the newsroom and traffic radio. This person oversees two directors (programming and news/traffic) and a total team of around 100 employees, including on-air talent. The role requires maintaining strong relationships with union partners. This key position demands inspiring leadership and a clear vision of the evolution of spoken media.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in content management within a news media organization (radio, TV, press, or digital)
Strong skills in team mobilization (unionized and non-unionized environments)
In-depth knowledge of the Quebec media market
Experience in human resources and operational management
Experience in crisis management
Previous experience acting as an organizational spokesperson
Experience serving on an executive leadership team
Experience leading change or transformation initiatives
Experience working across multiple regions
Journalism experience
