Federation of Women's Shelters

Montreal
Permanent, temps plein

The Federation of Women’s Shelters works from a feminist participatory management perspective, placing co-construction at the heart of all its activities and interactions with its member shelters. These approaches require a collaborative and reflective posture as well as a way of being that facilitates the recognition of the expertise of each of the actors involved (women in shelter, member shelters, partners, and FMHF workers). To ensure the sustainability of the Federation, the organization is looking for its next rare gem as a Political Issues Advisor.

The role

Reporting to the Executive Director and operationally supervised by the Deputy Director, the Political Issues Advisor conducts rigorous monitoring of political developments affecting or related to women’s issues as a whole. She collaborates closely with the Communications Coordinator as well as with the entire team of the Federation of Women’s Shelters (FMHF).

The Political Issues Advisor also actively participates in awareness-raising and advocacy initiatives, promoting recognition of issues related to violence against women and women’s rights. She works closely with the Executive Director and the Communications Coordinator to develop integrated strategies aimed at raising public awareness, mobilizing resources, and influencing public policies.

She performs any other related tasks, all in accordance with the organization’s internal procedures and rules, following the directions and priorities set by the Board of Directors.
