The Role

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Philanthropic Development, Partnerships, Major Gifts, and Planned Giving Manager is responsible for developing, planning, directing, organizing, and controlling all philanthropic development strategies and business plans, in line with the section’s strategic orientations and objectives.

He/she also assumes full responsibility for the major gifts and planned giving strategy, and its implementation. With a view to increasing the section’s revenues, the incumbent develops and identifies funding opportunities. He/she develops and implements revenue development and diversification strategies while ensuring that appropriate policies, procedures, and operating mechanisms are in place and respected.

he/she supports the Director of Operations in coordinating the work of the fundraising team and provides expert advice to senior management. He/she contributes to strategic planning and participates in certain Executive Committee meetings.

The Must-Haves

  • University degree in management, marketing, communications, PR, philanthropy, or equivalent experience;
  • A minimum of ten (10) years' experience in philanthropic development in a position of responsibility, including responsibility for strategy;
  • Experience in creating comprehensive fundraising planning, coordination and implementation;
  • In-depth knowledge of fundraising techniques and methods: major and planned gifts, events, partnerships, institutional giving;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Very good knowledge of philanthropic and business circles;
  • Extensive network of contacts;
  • HR and financial management skills.
