The Saint-Laurent Immigrant Social and Economic Reception and Referral Centre (CARI St-Laurent) is a non-profit, non-denominational, and non-partisan organization whose mission is to welcome, assist, and accompany immigrants in their settlement, adaptation, and personal, social, and professional integration processes by adapting its services to the experiences of immigrants and the host society.

The role

Reporting to the board of directors, the position holder plans, develops, directs, and controls all strategic, operational, administrative, and financial activities of the organization to ensure its development and sustainability along with its projects. They embody and share the mission, vision, and values. Therefore, they are responsible for the smooth functioning of the organization and the achievement of annual programming objectives.

The right fit

  • Master's degree in management, social sciences, or related field or relevant experience;
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior executive role including budget management and human resources management;
  • Interest or understanding and foresight of issues related to immigration, especially the integration of immigrants, obstacles, and solutions;
  • Knowledge of the non-profit sector; Knowledge of philanthropy and experience in fundraising;
  • Leadership aligned with the organization's values;
  • Good mobilization and collaboration skills (ability to bring people together);
  • Ability to reconcile divergent directions;
  • Demonstrated ability in rigorous management;
  • Negotiation and partnership development skills;
  • Good knowledge of traditional media and social media;
  • Public relations skills, adaptability;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to implement changes.
