A social economy enterprise since 1992, Resto Plateau is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering autonomy and inclusion by addressing essential needs such as job integration and food security in Montreal and the Greater Montreal area.

Its community-focused initiatives provide a welcoming space in its restaurant, offering nutritious meals at reduced prices. The organization also supports individuals facing food insecurity or social isolation by helping them develop autonomy in food management and social integration, in collaboration with local partners.

Through its employment integration program, Resto Plateau offers paid work experience, training in restaurant trades, and social support to facilitate access to the job market. Additionally, the organization strengthens its visibility and financial sustainability by providing high-quality food products and services.

The role

Reporting to the Board of Directors and in alignment with Resto Plateau’s mission and values, the Executive Director is responsible for the management, development, and sustainability of the organization.

This role includes overseeing planning, supervision, and evaluation of services and activities, while ensuring efficient human, financial, and material resource management.

The Executive Director leads a management team of four, including those responsible for finance, job integration, production, and community programs, ensuring optimal operational coordination and strategic development.

The right fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, social work, or a related field;
  • Minimum five years of experience in team management and mobilization;
  • Experience in strategic planning processes;
  • Experience in operational management (financial and administrative oversight);
  • Knowledge of business development, grant applications, and building partnerships (corporate, community, and philanthropic);
  • Strong interest in socioeconomic integration and food security issues;
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors (an asset);
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector (an asset).
