Reporting to the Executive Director, the person in this role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications (public, governmental, and media), both nationally and globally. They are the guardian of the brand image, visibility, and reputation, and must collaborate closely with the Communications and Marketing Coordinator.
Strategic Institutional Communication
Safeguard the brand image and institutional visibility.
Propose and implement communication strategies and activities to ensure maximum impact in achieving the strategic plan.
Evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and produce regular performance reports.
Identify relevant partnership opportunities.
Coordinate, write, and/or edit promotional materials and various content for internal and external audiences.
Organize or participate in the organization of events.
Public and Government Affairs
Advise and support the Executive Director in strategic public and government communications.
Ensure the visibility of AICF and the Executive Director in various forums and with strategic stakeholders.
Draft or contribute to the drafting of briefs, correspondence, position statements, and public press releases.
Analyze or collaborate in analyzing bills or regulations.
Maintain ongoing relationships with ministerial offices in both Quebec City and Ottawa.
Conduct political news monitoring related to strategic issues.
Occasionally act as AICF’s representative at events or consultations.
Media Relations
Ensure consistent and broad media presence for AICF and the Executive Director across Canada.
Develop and maintain proactive relationships with media and assess media impact.
Coordinate media arrangements for interviews and press conferences.
Implement strategies to ensure media coverage of AICF events.
Respond to media inquiries.
Digital Communications and Social Media
In collaboration with the Communications and Marketing Coordinator:
Establish performance indicators and ensure that set objectives are met to measure AICF’s impact on social media.
Ensure that AICF’s presence on all digital platforms is meaningful, impactful, high-quality, and aligned with the brand image.
Other Tasks
Participate in team and all-staff meetings.
Coordinate or take part in committees.
Contribute to revising AICF’s strategic plan as needed.
Carry out any other related duties or tasks requested by the Executive Director.
Occasionally, increased availability may be required outside normal working hours.
