Éco Entreprises Québec, a private nonprofit organization accredited by RECYC-QUÉBEC and currently expanding, represents businesses that market containers, packaging, and printed matter in Quebec under the Compensation Plan for the Collection of Recyclable Materials.

As the world of selective collection evolves in Quebec, Éco Entreprises Québec finds itself at the heart of this important societal and environmental change. The modernization of the system to meet the challenges of the 21st century requires significant collaboration within the organization. The ÉEQ team is working to define this extensive modernization project of selective collection based on the principle of extended producer responsibility (EPR) and will be tasked with implementing its vision as a designated management organization (OGD).

The role

Reporting to the Secretary-General and Vice President of Legal and Public Affairs, the Senior Director of Communications and Public Affairs will be responsible for internal and external communications activities of the organization, public affairs, and overseeing the marketing direction.

The right fit

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, political science, or another relevant field;
  • +10 years of experience in corporate communications leadership within a company, organization, or association dealing with multiple stakeholders;
  • Experience in managing and building high-performing teams (employees) and external partners;
  • Proven track record in strategic communications planning to enhance brand visibility, support a cause and/or service, and corporate positioning both internally and externally;
  • Proven track record in public affairs to support organizational priorities;
  • Acted as a corporate spokesperson;
  • Very good knowledge of media and social media environments, in addition to staying informed about local and international news;
  • Strong experience in project management and developing communication tools (annual reports, press releases, infographics, videos, events, corporate ads, website, and other digital content, etc.);
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of the Quebec and North American ecosystem and organizations involved in the selective collection sector (an asset);
  • Experience in engaging with Indigenous communities (an asset).
