Université de Montréal - Les Carabins - CEPSUM
Université de Montréal, together with its affiliated schools Polytechnique Montréal and HEC Montréal, forms the leading hub of higher education in Quebec. CEPSUM is the Université de Montréal’s sports and physical education center, a major sports complex located in Montreal. Built in 1965 and expanded for the 1976 Olympic Games, it is considered one of the largest sports centers in Canada and offers a wide range of activities for both the university community and the general public. CEPSUM is also home to the university’s varsity sports team, Les Carabins, and provides extensive support to student-athletes at Université de Montréal.
With more than 510 student-athletes across 23 teams, the Carabins’ elite sports program is the largest French-language university sports program in North America. It promotes both athletic performance and academic excellence. Its reputation speaks for itself: year after year, the institution ensures everything is in place so its athletes excel both in competition and in the classroom. This dual pathway shapes them into role models of success, resilience, and perseverance — inspiring the next generation, the campus community, and society at large.
