The company

Founded in 2021 and based in Paris, Shift4Good is a venture capital firm specializing in smart and sustainable mobility solutions.

Its mission: to decarbonize the transportation sector by supporting startups and innovative companies.

Shift4Good supports high-impact projects at the intersection of technology, the environment, and mobility. The firm has 16 companies in its portfolio, covering a variety of sectors such as road transport, electrical equipment, productivity software, automotive, maritime, and industrial chemicals.

Among the companies supported are:
ComPredict, Shippeo, Eyelights, Bound4Blue, Routematic, novoMOF, NOWOS, and Green Corp Konnection, reflecting an expert, active investment strategy focused on green growth.

The role

The Managing Partner will be responsible for overseeing all of the fund’s operations in Canada, participating in raising capital locally, sourcing and supporting investments, while participating in strategic decisions with other Shift4Good partners. In this capacity, he or she will also be expected to invest personally in the fund and become a full partner.

The right fit

More than 15 years of experience, including at least 10 years as an investor (venture capital or private equity);
Solid investment track record (you will need to ask candidates for their track record with each investment: company in which they invested, how much money, when, what was their role in the investment, did they have a seat on the board, what was the financial performance of the investment—at exit or, failing that, the current value of the investment or at the time they left the structure, etc.);
Active participation on boards of directors;
Significant experience outside Quebec (Canada, US, international);
Excellent reputation in the LP ecosystem (investors who invest in funds);
Established network in the startup and co-investor ecosystems in Quebec and Canada;
Strong network in the investment ecosystems (public, private, and institutional funds) in Quebec and Canada;
Proven experience in fundraising in Quebec and the rest of Canada;
Excellent knowledge of the transportation, energy, and climate tech sectors.
