The Barreau du Québec is the professional regulatory body overseeing the practice of nearly 30,000 lawyers across all areas of law. Its mission is to protect the public, contribute to accessible and high-quality justice, and uphold the rule of law. The Barreau is represented by the Bâtonnier of Québec, elected by vote, along with board members. Together, they work in concert to fulfill the Barreau’s public protection mandate.
The Level 2 Inspector works with lawyers to help them adopt better practices. To this end, they conduct inspections and issue recommendations or formal requirements based on the observed level of risk.
The Level 2 Inspector ensures that lawyers’ competencies meet professional standards and that their practices are safe for the public. Through observations and feedback, the Inspector supports lawyers’ ongoing commitment to improving their professional skills.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in law
Member of the Barreau du Québec for at least 10 years
Experience in law firm management
Ability to assess human resources and financial management
Experience in investigation or inspection (an asset)
Relevant experience in one of the following areas of law:
Civil Law
Business Law

Advanced proficiency in spoken and written French
Proficiency in spoken and written English, including the ability to review case files or attend hearings conducted in English
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
