The company
Le Bouclier d’Athéna Family Services is a non-profit organization that supports women and children who are victims of domestic and family violence. The organization offers specialized multilingual services and serves nearly 1,000 women and children each year.
Its service network includes three integrated components:
- Multilingual services provided by professional social workers, supported by trained cultural intermediaries, available at offices located in Laval and Montreal.
- A shelter, La Maison d’Athéna, which offers 24/7 emergency accommodation in a safe and rehabilitative environment for women and children who are victims of family violence.
- A multilingual community outreach program, which educates the Greater Montreal and Laval populations in their native language on issues related to family violence.
The role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the selected candidate will be responsible for the administrative and operational management of the new second-stage shelter. They will ensure the smooth coordination and high quality of services provided in the residence, and represent the organization on various committees.
The right fit
- University degree in psychology, social sciences, political science, communications, human relations, or any other relevant field
- Relevant experience in administrative management (billing, rent collection, maintenance, operations, HR, etc.), social services management (client services, collective living, implementation of programs and activities, etc.), and/or representation and fundraising
- Knowledge of the social services network
- Demonstrated sensitivity to or knowledge of domestic violence and/or feminist and ethnocultural systemic approaches
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Native French speaker with strong writing skills, and professional-level English proficiency
