Nemaska Lithium Inc. is a Canadian company active in the production of battery-grade lithium. It integrates the entire value chain, from spodumene mining to the processing of lithium products (hydroxide, carbonate). Its main project is the Whabouchi mine, located in northern Quebec, in Eeyou Istchee territory, as well as a processing plant in Bécancour, Quebec.

The company is committed to environmental and social responsibility, working closely with local Indigenous communities and striving to minimize its ecological footprint.

Nemaska Lithium aims to play a central role in the supply chain for critical materials for electric batteries in North America, in order to support the transition to clean energy.

The role

Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources and Communications, the Communications Manager develops, implements, and oversees the organization’s internal and external communications strategies. He or she acts as a resource person for public relations, brand image and employer brand management, digital communications, and support for various teams to ensure consistent, effective communication that is aligned with strategic objectives.

  • Maternity leave replacement: 18-month term.

The right fit
  • University degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role;
  • Experience in internal communications in a context of strong growth or organizational transformation (cultural deployment, large-scale employee integration);
  • Experience in stakeholder relations (governments, Indigenous communities, investors, business partners) and ability to navigate complex environments;
  • Experience in government relations, public affairs, media relations;
  • Experience in setting up or optimizing communication tools and platforms (intranet, multi-site posting, SharePoint, WordPress);
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective communication strategies;
  • Experience in team management or project coordination;
  • Good knowledge of digital tools, social media, and communication trends;
  • Knowledge of sustainable development (an asset);
  • Knowledge of the industrial, mining, or manufacturing sector (an asset).
