The Accounting Manager ensures financial data accuracy and integrity, oversees month-end and year-end processes, and contributes to financial analysis and reporting. This person leads a small accounting team and supports other departments in project financial management. They actively improve accounting processes across the organization, ensuring alignment and efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a focus on accounting/finance
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
Experience managing staff
Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle (month-end and year-end closing, financial statements, project budget monitoring, financial audits)
Expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and preparation of various financial documents (monthly, semi-annual, and annual reports)
Payroll management experience, including legal compliance and tax specifics
Experience with ERP systems (SAP Business One is an asset)
CPA designation or in the process of obtaining it is an asset
Experience in an advisory role within an accounting firm is an asset
