The role

Under the supervision of the Events and Bookstore Manager, the person is responsible for the operational management of the Bookstore’s activities. They oversee, motivate, and develop their team and ensure an outstanding customer experience.

The right fit
  • At least three (3) years of experience in similar positions (experience in bookstores and museum shops is an asset);
  • College diploma in administration or a related field;
  • Experience in retail and sales team management;
  • Knowledge of current trends in specialty retail in design, bookstores, and merchandise;
  • Strong leadership skills, positive attitude, and ability to motivate a team;
  • Highly adaptable to change and able to find innovative solutions;
  • Experience in management roles in a unionized environment—an asset;
  • Good knowledge of the visual arts and the museum environment—an asset;
  • Excellent command of French and English (spoken and written);
  • Work schedule from Tuesday to Saturday and occasional availability on evenings and weekends.
