The Conseil d\u2019\u00e9conomie sociale de l\u2019\u00eele de Montr\u00e9al (CESIM) is Montr\u00e9al\u2019s regional organization dedicated to the development of the social economy. Its mission is to promote, support, and strengthen the social economy as a driver of economic, social, territorial, and collective development across Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n
Recognized by the Montr\u00e9al Agglomeration, CESIM serves as the regional social economy hub alongside the other regional hubs across Qu\u00e9bec. It plays a central role in promoting the social economy, supporting the emergence, growth, and consolidation of collective enterprises, and mobilizing local, regional, and institutional stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Director General provides strategic, organizational, and partnership leadership for CESIM. The incumbent is responsible for advancing the organization\u2019s mission, implementing its strategic orientations, and achieving its objectives.<\/p>\n
In this role, the Director General ensures CESIM is positioned as an influential, credible, and unifying actor within Montr\u00e9al\u2019s ecosystem. The individual represents the organization with public, municipal, community, economic, and institutional partners, while actively contributing to the development of strategic partnerships and the recognition of the social economy within Montr\u00e9al\u2019s policies, projects, and development priorities.<\/p>\n
Working closely with the Board of Directors, the Director General contributes to defining the organization\u2019s strategic directions and ensures their implementation. The incumbent oversees the sound management of human, financial, and organizational resources, supports the team in delivering on its mandates, and fosters a culture rooted in collaboration, rigor, impact, and mobilization.<\/p>\n
The Director General also acts as a champion for Montr\u00e9al\u2019s social economy ecosystem. The individual helps unite stakeholders across the territory, strengthen relationships between networks, and position CESIM as a space for collaboration, influence, and collective action in support of Montr\u00e9al\u2019s development.<\/p>\n","essential_criteria":"
Since joining La T\u00eate Chercheuse in 2020, S\u00e9bastien has established himself as a key contributor to the organization. He first spent two years as a Senior Consultant, where he distinguished himself through his ability to lead complex mandates and build lasting, trust-based relationships with clients. Since 2023, in his role as Director, Talent Management, he has been advising public, private, and non-profit organizations on strategic recruitment, leadership, and governance matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He works closely with executive directors, boards of directors, and leadership teams to help build high-performing, aligned, and sustainable organizations. He has also completed governance training through the College of Corporate Directors, further strengthening his expertise in supporting decision-making bodies and governance practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, S\u00e9bastien has advised numerous Quebec organizations, particularly in the community, cultural, and communications sectors. He is recognized for an approach that is strategic, pragmatic, and deeply people-centered, helping organizations strengthen employee engagement, develop leadership capabilities, and navigate organizational transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highly involved in his community, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Mental Health Association (Montreal Branch), where he actively contributes to the promotion of mental health and well-being. He is also engaged with the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Montreal, notably through committees focused on recruitment and the development of emerging talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
