Located in the western part of the island of Montreal and holding bilingual city status, the City of Dorval is bordered to the south by the beautiful Lake St-Louis and offers an enchanting environment with its numerous parks, green spaces, and many sports and cultural facilities. It has a team of approximately 480 employees, a population of about 20,000 inhabitants, and a territory of 20.8 km2 crisscrossed by some 120 km of public roads, including highways 20 and 40.

Le rôle

The ideal candidate must have extensive qualifications and skills in aquatic center operations, building mechanics, instrumentation and controls, with a specialization in building management. He/She will supervise internal and external resources as well as all operations of the aquatic and sports complex and outdoor aquatic centers, and will ensure the proper functioning of bathing water production systems, asset maintenance, and compliance with water balance parameters and air quality control. In addition, he/she will also be able to respond to all requests from the leisure and culture department and follow up in coordination with the public works department.

The person will play a crucial role in ensuring the sustainability, efficiency, and quality of aquatic facilities. To this end, he/she will need to implement monitoring and controls on water quality and compliance to offer an optimal experience for users while maintaining the highest safety standards.

The right fit

  • Hold a diploma of vocational studies in industrial mechanics or water treatment or a technical college diploma in mechanical engineering.
  • Have at least 12 months of relevant experience in process mechanics of comparable or greater nature and importance.
  • Hold a valid Quebec driver's license.
  • Master water chemistry and bathing water production.
  • Knowledge of gas and electric water heaters, geothermal, heat pumps.
  • Knowledge of building mechanics, HVAC, ventilation, heating, electricity.
  • Be C.P.O. certified.
  • Have WHMIS training (asset).
  • Have training on chlorine gas protection (asset).
  • Have specific training on entering confined spaces procedures (asset).
