The role

Under the supervision of the Director of Infrastructure and Water Management Services, the incumbent Hydraulic Engineer conducts hydraulic studies and simulations to define optimal interventions for ensuring the performance of potable water and sewage networks and facilitating territorial development. Their main responsibilities include creating and maintaining existing hydraulic models, participating in their development by recommending improvement actions and solutions, updating master plan guidelines, analyzing development projects, and ensuring their compliance with the City’s master plans.

The right fit

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a relevant discipline;
  • Five (5) years of experience, including two (2) years in personnel management;
  • Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (an asset);
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license;
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of Word and Excel software;
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of hydraulic simulation software such as aquaGEO, PCSWMM, Autocad, and Civil 3D;
  • Completion of the Construction Site Health and Safety Course (ASP);
  • Knowledge of asset management practices;
  • Experience in municipal environments.
