The role

Reporting to the Plant General Manager, the Human Resources Director will support the organization and assist managers in the following areas of expertise: administrative management of health and safety, recruitment, training and development, labor relations, benefits, and organizational development. The individual will be responsible for supporting the organization’s growth by establishing and maintaining effective human resources management practices.

The right fit

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a human resources advisory role to management, including at least 5 years in a unionized environment;
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector or related industries in a management role;
  • Proven experience in creating or negotiating collective agreements within large companies;
  • Demonstrated achievements in improving the employee experience (onboarding, recruitment, talent development, retention);
  • Budget management experience;
  • Experience in compensation, implementing benefits programs, and developing pay equity programs;
  • Experience in defining and evolving health and safety programs;
  • Experience in labor relations and knowledge of laws, standards, and procedures governing the application and implementation of collective agreements.
