Cogeco Media, a subsidiary of Cogeco, owns and operates twenty-one radio stations, including the talk radio network: 98.5 in Montreal, 106.9 in Mauricie, 107.7 in Estrie, 104.7 in Outaouais, FM93 in Quebec City, and KYK 95.7 in Saguenay; and the Rythme network: 105.7 in Montreal, 102.9 in Quebec City, 100.1 in Mauricie, 98.3 in Saguenay, and 93.7 in Estrie. Other stations include CIME 103.9 in the Laurentians, 96.9 CKOI, The Beat 92.5, four Planète stations in Lac-Saint-Jean, and Radio Circulation 730 AM in Montreal.

Leaders in their respective markets, Cogeco Media’s stations reach nearly 5 million listeners each week, offering diverse and relevant programming to a broad audience. The company also owns Cogeco Nouvelles, the largest private radio news agency in Quebec.

Cogeco Media also owns Cogeco Force Radio (CFR), which offers access to a powerful network of high-performing, complementary, and diverse radio stations across Quebec. These include stations owned by Cogeco Media as well as partner stations from Leclerc Communication, Attraction Média, and RNC MEDIA. CFR also provides access to a digital network of websites affiliated with the radio stations it represents. CFR offers clients an integrated sales service, with a full multidisciplinary team specializing in advertising consulting, research, and media creativity.

The role

The Vice President of Sales plays a key role in the organization, whose primary source of revenue is advertising sales. The incumbent will lead a team of 90 sales professionals and sit on the company’s executive leadership committee. This person will serve as the driving force behind radio and digital advertising revenues, both locally and nationally. In addition, this VP will directly support the rollout of the company’s strategic plan.

The right fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent field
  • Over 8 years of experience in a media sales leadership role
  • Experience in radio and digital media
  • Proven achievements in revenue model transformation
  • In-depth understanding of content monetization across digital channels
  • Demonstrated success in sales team management
  • Strong leadership and team mobilization skills in a context of change
  • Solid knowledge of local, regional, and national advertising markets
  • Deep understanding of the media strategy ecosystem (advertising agencies, media reps, major advertisers, etc.)
  • Proficient in sales tracking technologies (CRM, audience surveys, radio/audio/digital platforms)
  • Comfortable with presentations in English (pitching experience)
  • MBA is an asset
