The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) raises and manages funds to support research, care, education, prevention, rehabilitation, and the evaluation of new technologies at the Montreal Heart Institute. In doing so, it fosters the excellence of a world-class institution serving the Montreal, Quebec, Canadian, and global communities, and helps fulfill its mission to fight cardiovascular disease — the leading cause of death worldwide.
Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, the Senior Major Gifts Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with major donors likely to contribute to the growth of the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation.
The selected candidate will help build, enhance, and promote the major gifts program for their sector. They will support the Director of Major Gifts in developing and implementing strategies, and play an active role in donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition, and reporting — all with the goal of increasing the Foundation’s revenue.
The individual will also apply proven philanthropic techniques to grow both major and mid-level giving in their sector.
University degree in a relevant field
At least 3 years of experience in fundraising (or account management)
Excellent command of French and strong proficiency in English, both spoken and written
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ideally familiar with philanthropic software such as Raiser’s Edge
