The company

The Fédération des milieux documentaires (FMD) is a non-profit organization (NPO) dedicated to strengthening cohesion among information professionals and ensuring access to reliable information that serves society. It achieves this through networking opportunities, organizing unifying events, offering continuing education, and sharing best practices. FMD also contributes to the development of innovative projects and effective tools, while promoting and representing the professions in the field.

The role

In close collaboration with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will lead the organization in consolidating and expanding its services, while fostering innovation, cross-sector cohesion, and the promotion of careers in the documentary field. As an ambassador of FMD’s mission and values, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact in a field that is essential to the collective well-being of society.

The right fit

Relevant university education (management, administration, information science, or a related field);
A minimum of 3 years of management experience, ideally in a leadership role with broad responsibilities;
Experience in fundraising and grant applications;
Proficiency with digital tools and a strong understanding of digital issues;
Fluency in French with excellent written and oral communication skills; English is considered an asset;
Experience working with a Board of Directors is an asset;
Good knowledge of the documentary and library sectors is also an asset.
