Auberges du St-Laurent Inc., also known as Saintlo, is both an owner of youth hostels in Québec and Ontario and the manager of the Saintlo Collective. Our mission is to create meaningful connections between local communities and travelers from around the world, while fostering discovery of our territory. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the organization, in alignment with the strategic plan defined by the Board.
All employees report to the ED, including department heads and hostel directors.
University degree in management or a related field (a master’s degree is an asset)
Minimum of five (5) years of senior leadership experience, preferably within the social economy sector
Proven experience in the tourism industry, particularly in accommodation or hospitality
Full professional proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written
Strong ethical standards and solid understanding of governance principles in the social economy
Ability to make sound, timely decisions under pressure while assessing risks
Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to businesses and non-profit organizations
Demonstrated leadership to motivate and manage teams and resources
Expertise in change management and market adaptation
Strong negotiation skills and experience managing partnerships
Flexibility to work under pressure, with availability for evenings, nights, and weekends for meetings, events, or emergencies
Willingness to travel occasionally between properties and partner organizations
